Anatomical studies and concept sketches, some of which were produced during my time as a medical illustrator at InViVo Communications, Inc. In most cases, they were created with a mixture of traditional and digital media.

Samples of black and white line art produced in Adobe Illustrator, or with pen and ink. Most of these were created to show anatomical structures or medical procedures, and are published in textbooks, journal articles, and study guides.

Fine art, some commissioned for private homes, others created as personal projects.

Stills from an animation I produced as part of the degree requirements for a Master’s in Biomedical Communications at the University of Toronto. The animation, entitled The Plastic Brain: Understanding Cortical Reorganization During Motor Skill Acquisition, was created with video, Maya, Adobe’s Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects. It was awarded funding by a Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons Scholarship in 2003, and describes the changes in the motor cortex on learning a new skill.

Printed posters and layouts created in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to visualize processes at the cellular or molecular level.

Slides and print designs commissioned for corporate presentations and health campaigns, and created in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft’s Powerpoint.
