This year's JPS conference will be my first, and it's being held right here in Berkeley, CA. I'll be presenting in a paper session on the second day: A vignette of two 6th grade students' debate over the meaning of a graph on global temperature change. It's a small analysis I conducted with some existing data from the TELS Center, but I do think it nicely demonstrates some of the challenges of arguing with visual evidence, as well as some opportunities to support students interpreting and using it.
