Player development, three teams, and baseball that does not stop in May.
Centaurus High School baseball strives for excellence in player development and success. We have program goals of developing players who can compete at the highest level and winning championships.
For those who aspire to it, CHS baseball is an excellent program for players dedicated to the development, training and competitive experience needed to play at the college level. It is also built for players who want to play baseball through high school, or as a complement to other sports and activities. Both belong here.
Centaurus fields teams at the freshman (C-team), JV and varsity levels. The freshman and sophomore years give younger players room to develop and sharpen their skills through practice, training, conditioning and competitive play.
Teams: Varsity / JV / C-team
League: Granite Peaks
Spring: 23 games varsity
Home field: Centaurus HS
Baseball at Centaurus does not stop in May. Only the spring season is run by the school; everything else is organized and funded by the Home Run Club. Our coaches actively encourage players to play other sports in the fall and winter. Off-season workouts are built for players who are not in another Centaurus sport that season.
Mid-February to May. The official CHSAA season. Varsity plays 23 games; JV and C-team play 12 to 18. School-provided bus transportation to away games.
Late May to end of July. Colorado American Legion ball, two teams. Optional, and how most incoming freshmen start.
Mid-August to end of October. The most relaxed baseball of the year. Optional.
Indoor training at Fitness Edge in Lafayette, typically offered twice a year. Optional.
Information flows from coach to player, and from player to parent. That is deliberate. Learning to receive information and act on it is part of what this program teaches.
