The State of Colorado's HydroBase database is maintained by the Colorado Division of Water Resources and contains water rights, structures, diversions, irrigated lands, streamflow, and other data. Downloads for HydroBase are provided here to facilitate distribution for training, use by modelers, and as an archive. Consider the information in the following table when choosing how to access HydroBase data, with options listed from lightest use (top) to heavy use (bottom).
Colorado Division of Water Resources staff focus on answering data questions but do not provide extensive support of local HydroBase installations, in particular since they cannot control the computer environment. The Open Water Foundation will attempt to troubleshoot HydroBase installation issues, for example by providing troubleshooting documentation and coordinating with DNR.
The CDSS CWRAT, StateView, and StateDMI software require a local copy of HydroBase, whereas the TSTool software is able to access HydroBase though DWR's web services. TSTool focuses on time series web services. Features to access additional web services will be added in the future.
