CSET LOTE Preparation Courses & Multilingual Initiatives
The Central California World Language Project (CCWLP) is a year round program striving to provide high quality, content-rich professional learning opportunities for K-16 World Languages and Dual Immersion educators.
All CCWLP programs supports CSMP’s Goals I, II, III, and IV by:
● Providing participants with effective research and standards-based instructional strategies to increase content and pedagogical knowledge.
●Supporting World Language teachers to engage students in rigorous academic work and cultural experiences.
● Reviewing and aligning the World Language Content Standards, Common Core State Standards and the English Language Development Standards.
● Differentiating instruction by utilizing all three Modes of Communication (Interpersonal, Interpretive and Presentational).
● Employing a variety of authentic texts, “close” reading activities, and “scaffolding” strategies to analyze texts, structures, patterns, meaning, and author’s styles.
● Integrating multimedia resources in language learning environments.
● Refining and implementing best practices to enrich student learning, integrate authentic materials, and communicate in the target language.
● Implementing and integrating multimedia resources and tools in the 21st Century Language classroom.
● Analyzing language skills and their levels of transferability
● Experiencing cooperative and engaging learning strategies while exploring cultural products, practices, and perspectives.
● Improving academic performance in the World Language, Bilingual, and/or Dual Immersion Classroom, for both teachers and students in these programs.
● Developing a collaborative community of World Language teachers/leaders to promote equity and social justice.
