VP6D DX-pedition to Ducie Island
Between Oct 20 and Nov 4, 2018 a team of 14 amateur radio operators from 6 countries operated amateur radio from Ducie Island. They met in Papeete, Tahiti (French Polynesia) and embarked on an air / sea journey to Ducie Island. Ducie is part of the Pitcairn Island group located in the south Pacific Ocean. You may remember that Pitcairn Island was the home of the mutineers made famous by the Mutiny on the Bounty. The DXpedition team spent one day at Pitcairn Island exploring and meeting several of the descendants of Fletcher Christian, who led the mutiny.
