Exploring the world of the Leicester Freemasons - BBC Inside Out, February 9 2010

The BBC “Inside out” investigative programme broadcasted a programme on “Exploring the World of the Leicester Freemasons” by BBC reporter Tony Roe, during BBC prime time viewing in February 2010.

The programme was transmitted for 9 minutes and although titled as being Leicester focussed, it showed contributions from Leicestershire & Rutland, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Provinces and covered the following subjects and give a very positive all round perspective :

• membership conditions and public views of Freemasons;
• young entrants and established masons’ views of their membership;
• contributions by Provincial Grand Masters of both Leicestershire & Rutland, Nottinghamshire and a representative from Derbyshire;
• views of Lodge Rooms and interior of Masonic centres;
• details of charitable activities supported by Freemasons; and
• Leicester Masonic museum.
