Pond plants are so enjoyable during blooming season. Water lilies light up a pond with their brilliant blooms. The lily pads serve as shade and protection for the fish and other pond residents. The fish provide all the nutrients for
these food loving plants. Water lilies, like other pond plants, may not be hardy if they are not placed at the correct depth in a pond to withstand cold winter conditions. Shallow ponds present another problem if they freeze up.
