Public Outreach Activities

I strongly believe that research should revert back into society. Bearing in mind that our work is paid by tax-payers money, I see it as a commitment towards society to participate in public outreach activities whenever possible.

  1. Talk at the 8th NLP Dublin Meetup: Human & Linguistic Factors. Living on the edge: productivity gain thresholds in machine translation evaluation metrics. Workday. Dublin, 17 July 2017.
  2. On 29 September 2017, I participated in Probe: Research uncovered at Trinity College Dublin. I gave a short talk about what inspires my research at the Café Curie tent.
  3. Volunteer at the All Ireland Linguistics Olympiad 2016/2017, 2017/2018, 2018/2019.
  4. Volunteer at the International Linguistics Olympiad held in Dublin, August 2017.
  5. Volunteer at the Science Week 2016 in Dublin, Ireland
  6. Guest videoconference. La vida en una agencia de traducción (Life in a translation agency). "Lost in Translation" cycle. A series of public conferences around the figure of a translator organised by the San Jorge University (Zaragoza, Spain). 15 February 2013.
