Betsy is a PhD student in the lab having finished her MS in May 2020 with a thesis focused upon the magnitude of de-acclimatization from moderate altitude. She is currently funded by an American College of Sports Medicine Space Physiology Grant which aims to investigate the impact of intrathoracic pressure swings on venous return and brain blood flow. She is originally from Burnt Hills, NY and received her BS in Exercise Science from the University at Buffalo in May 2018. Her broad research interest is in integrative respiratory physiology and is interested in focusing her research on de- and re-acclimatization to moderate altitude. Outside of the lab, Betsy enjoys cooking, hiking, reading, and hanging out with friends and family.
