Cape Youth Sailing

COVID-19 Pandemic Update - June 2021

As you know, the novel COVID-19 virus has brought many changes to our world; many things we know and many remain a mystery.

As you probably know, we are moving forward with the Youth Sailing session this summer. We are following all state and CDC guidelines for health and safety. At this time, these guidelines do not require that students wear a mask while outdoors but they may, if they so choose.

We will be implementing limited social distancing during each of the two-week session as we transition to the "new normal."

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Program Information

Our program is designed to teach the fundamentals of sailing, whether you are a beginner or an experienced sailor. Sailing is a recreational as well as a competitive sport that can be enjoyed for a lifetime.

The purpose of the summer youth sailing program is to provide a safe instructional environment for an enjoyable summer of learning how to sail. At the end of the summer, each junior sailor will receive a certificate of completion and a lifetime of friends and memories.

All the YCCSC Youth Sailing Program instructors are at least 18 years of age and are US Sailing Level I Instructor Certified or actively pursuing US Sailing Level I certification.

All Instructors and assistants hold current First Aid/CPR cards. The staff employ 5 motorized boats for instruction and safety.

Classes are sailed in program-owned 420s (a 14’ sloop-rigged sailboat for 2-3 young sailors) or in Vanguard and Optimist prams, designed for one or two small youths.
