Golf Rules

1. USGA Rules will govern play, except local rules.

2. Play ready golf, and be sure to count all whiffs.

3. Score cards must be dated, signed, attested, and placed in the score card box. Those failing to do so will be ineligible for weekly prizes.

4. A player must have paid Association dues in order to become a member to be paired.

5. Ball lying in the rough must be played as it lies. Exception: if a ball should lie in the rocks, a free drop is permitted - not nearer the hole.

6. Ball may be dropped from artificial hard surface path only when such path interferes with the stance or swing. Drop no nearer the hole at a point affording nearest possible relief. No penalty.

7. The player’s ball shall not strike the flagstick, attended or unattended, when the ball has been played on the putting green. Two (2) stroke penalty, and ball is played as it lies.

8. Ball striking another ball on the green with approach shot - no penalty. Golfer may play own ball as it lies; or, before another stroke is played, the ball may be placed as near as possible to the spot from which it was moved.

9. While putting, a two (2) stroke penalty is incurred if your ball strikes another ball on the putting surface. The ball you strike may be played from where it lies, or it may be placed as near as possible to its original position. If you ask a player to mark a ball and it is NOT done, no penalty is incurred and both balls are played where they lie.

10. OUT OF BOUNDS – one stroke penalty.

11. LOST BALL – Player must face at approximate spot; drop ball with one stroke penalty.

12. UNPLAYABLE BALL – Drop ball, under one stroke penalty, within two club lengths of the point where the ball lies, but not nearer the hole and with no limit to how far back the ball may be dropped.

13. Playing a ball other than your own on the fairway is a two-stroke penalty. Player whose ball was struck must drop ball in approximately same spot and play that ball to the green where it may be changed, if desired. You must pick up ball when you get to it, but you cannot use it until you get to the green.

14. Ball and spike marks may be repaired on the putting green before putting. You may change your ball on the putting green.

15. When marking your ball on the putting green, lay your marker BEHIND the ball and then pick up the ball. DO NOT pick up your ball and then mark.

16. a. White stakes indicate out of bounds – one stroke penalty.

b. Orange stakes indicate ground under repair – ball may be dropped at point affording nearest possible relief, not nearer the hole. No penalty.

17. Do not move the red balls in tee box. You may tee off in front of the balls if you feel it is necessary.

18. NO MULLIGANS ALLOWED.

19. A WHIFF will be counted as a stroke.

20. Replace divots on fairways as you play.
