PINGS BITS
The first stop on our pilgrimage was Trentham Golf Club one of his favourite courses.Thank you to all of the past and present members for joining us at Trentham, it was such a great turn out and great to share past memories of Eugy, also fantastic to see Julie and the kids after the round to share in this day.
Many thanks to Ernie for bringing along a rather exceptional bottle of scotch to toast Eugy with.
Some lovely words were spoken by Pup and then we all tried to use that driver of Eugy's, some were more successful than others, not sure if Eugy was picking his favourites for the good shots or just sitting back laughing at our attempts to master the box on the end of a stick, most probably the latter.
After the round we sat in glorious sunshine and reminisced and tried to clean out the esky so Wolfy can load it up in his attempt to reach the dizzy heights Eugy did as Esky Manager.

ERNIES BITS
A fitting send off to a man never forgotten.What a turn out to remember one of our own. It was great to see a lot of old faces back together in remembrance.
After a rather pathetic attempt to draw groups we wandered over to the 11th tee which was a good choice as it is one of the better holes and had a toast to Eugyboy and spread part of his ashes as was his request.
Not since Rich River in 2012 have we had a group of 16 turn up and it was great to see. As it was to see Julie and the kids show up after the round and bring the esky for us to enjoy.
That baton has been passed on to Wolfy now and he has been warned not to fill it with his strange wog type fire water or aldi beer.
Next round is at Sunshine and sadly it was to be Eugys joker round and i will make a suggestion we all play for double points. A yummy BBQ will be held at the chalet de koers after golf anf Wolfy's Esky skills will be put to the test.

PINGS BITS
The second stop on our pilgrimage was Shepparton Golf Club one of his favourite courses for differing reasons, as we say what happens on the Mid-Season Trip stays on the Mid-Season Trip, but this time we'll share the fun and frivolity.We make this trip every year to play one of the best courses Australia has forgotten about and at this time of the year it's generally dry, but bloody cold, the course is always stunning both in outlook and condition.
We play Ambrose every year for a few bucks, this trip is meant to be a fun weekend not playing for points just a laugh with your mates, something Eugy loved.
We drink too much, we do stupid stuff, usually Wheel puts on a show and this year was no different, having Ernie as his roomy he tarted up their accommodation into a LOVE NEST, complete with about 20 candles and some rather aromatic incense, it's a wonder the smoke detector didn't go off.
Broady said some of the most memorable things ever to be uttered from his mouth and we placed Eugy's small vile of ashes in the garden at the 18th green so he could look out over the course and be there with us upon or return next year, as always we'll remember him.

The third stop on our pilgrimage was Ballan Golf Club a funny little mainly Par 3 course Par 62 in total, funny is appropriate for this place as it is one course we do silly stuff at.This place has become synonymous with silly shorts round, and Julie's pair of knitted hmmm or were they crochet, rainbow coloured shorts lovingly made for Eugy to parade around the course in, he remarked does my bum look big in these, to the reply of yep, so tight were they that Broady thought he was smuggling a budgie.
As it was mid winter Silly Shorts were replaced with Onsie round another of the silly things we did, we'd tried it once before but only Ernie, Eugy and myself turned up at Growling Frog in one, a cool day to start and by about the 6th hole I was cooking and so was Ernie so we removed the onsie's, we were perplexed as to why Eugy hadn't stripped down, he'd only gone there wearing the bare essentials underneath jocks and socks wouldn't pass at the Growling Frog.
Mr Colin Bennett esq. reminded us again of Eugy's contribution to our group and his love of life, something we all should try to achieve, as always we'll remember him.

PINGS BITS
The forth stop on our pilgrimage was Keynton Golf Club another far away country course Eugy enjoyed.I think he like this rural retreat as he seemed to play well here and the fact we usually sit around after the round chowing down on a BBQ and a beer or two or three you get the idea, really I think this was the best part of a golf round for him sitting with the guys afterwards sharing a laugh and a beer, and I have to agree with him, yes we are competitive but after all is said and done for me and I believe for him it's about spending some time with your mates.
It was nearly the end of winter and Keynton froze our extremities, hopefully for the last time this year, as we gathered on the first tee our Pastoralist and Business Owner the most lovable (next to Eugy) Glenn (Jaffas) Jefferies nearly brought us to tears (I'm blaming it on the cold) as he again reminisced on Eugy's contribution to our group, as always we'll remember him.

The fifth stop on our pilgrimage was Queenscliffe Golf Club on Swan Island way down past Geelong where the ferry traverses the bay just inside the heads.I really don't know why Eugy liked this place, maybe it's the security on the gate, the funny 1 lane bridge over to the island, but most likely it was the challenge, sheltered by nothing this place is windy on a calm day, usually freezing cold thanks to Broady for booking it in Winter, water along a lot of holes and bent and twisted old weather beaten shrubs and trees line the fairways, Yep it was the challenge.
We gathered on the first tee and our newly appointed Esky Manager, Paul (Wolfman) Klemencic, not doing a bad job given who he replaced, share his thoughts on Eugy, such was Wolfy's admiration our eskies now are adorned with pictures of Eugy, as always we'll remember him.

The Sixth stop on our pilgrimage was Rich River Golf Club (Our Annual Trip).Now Eugy liked this place, or more he loved the Annual Trips, 4 days of fun and frivolity. Drank some Alcohol (Tick) Played some Golf (Tick) Drank some Alcohol (Tick) Played the Pokies (Tick) Drank some Alcohol (Tick) Had Ernie stick his tongue in his Ear (Tick) what more could you want.
We gathered on the tee and Mr Ian Koers a man who is rarely brought to tears shared some special words, Eugy's loss I feel has hit him it seems, more than most in our group or a least it shows more with Ernie, sometimes you just want to give him a hug and let him stick his tongue in your ear. As always we'll remember our mate Eugy.

PINGS BITS
The Seventh stop on our pilgrimage was Hepburn Springs Golf Club.Now why did Eugy liked this place, well its short but challenging, picturesque, out of the way and never crowded, except for the kangaroos.
Macca also know as Graham MacDonald in his usual fashion never wasting a second of his time, mustered the troops said a few words and placed Eugy's ashes in a very lovely bush next to the first tee. As always we'll remember him.

PINGS BITS
The Eigth stop on our pilgrimage was Werribee Park Golf Club.Now I'm with Eugy on this, Some don't like it but we did, there are some special holes like the 4th, 11th 15th 16th and the last which all pose a challenge, the fairways are always good and it's close to home.
Sadly I wasn't able to attend due to Family commitments but I'll say g'day next time we are there. Mr Col Barrow one of our funniest members shared his deapest thoughts about Eugy. As always we'll remember him.

The Ninth stop on our pilgrimage was Broadford Golf Club.Now why in anyone’s god’s name would Eugy like this place, well it used to be the regular start to our Mid-Season trip to Shepparton, there's one reason, although it was usually frozen over when we played here, he did have from memory his best ever round of golf here, another reason and such was his commitment to the provision of alcohol, we did crack a can or two of bourbon very early, just to check them to make sure they were cold enough for the Shepparton section of the trip.
Our dearest Greek member Con Alexopoulos, was the man of the moment as we again remembered our mate. As always we'll remember him

The Tenth stop on our pilgrimage was Bundoora Park Golf Club.Now I'm told by a reliable source that Eugy was a member here and he had many good times playing this track, I don't ever remember playing here other than in winter and it's always wet but this time around maybe Eugy was looking down as although it had rained heavily during the week the course wa in good nick.
Mr Paul (Bandit) Healy gave what must have been one of the few times in his life a heart felt chat about Eugy and the word I was not mentioned once. we again took a moment as we again remembered our mate. As always we'll remember him.

The Eleventh stop on our pilgrimage was Murray Downs at Swanhill.This being one of Eugy's favourite places, it seems fitting to lay some of his ashes here, I know last time he was here with the group, so many of the funniest moments involved him,
I had the honour this time of addressing the rabble assembled before me. I began by referring to them as the dearly beloved, because that's what they were to Eugy, He Loved golf, He Loved Swanhill, He Loved his mates more and that's what I hope they all took away from my words.
It's about being with and spending time with your mates, that's what I and I truly believe Eugy thought.
We as always took a moment as we again remembered our mate. As always we'll remember him.
