Troop 9 will start meeting again in September, from 6:30 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday nights in the St. Michael Church Hall. Join us!
Troop 9 Pawcatuck is an active troop which has been chartered continuously by St. Michael Church since 1920.
It is the only Connecticut troop in Rhode Island's Narragansett Council.
The troop is dedicated to serving the youth in our community by helping to prepare them to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes, and instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Boys who are 11 (or are at least 10) years old, who have completed the fifth grade or have earned the Cub Scout Arrow of Light Award, are welcome through 17 years of age.
Troop 9 camps and holds monthly activities year round. Activities have includednter camping, summer camping at Camp Yawgoog, hiking, sailing on the Connecticut River, zip lining at adventure parks, biking on Block Island, canoeing on the Pawcatuck River, white water rafting in Massachusetts, ski and snowshoeing trips in New Hampshire, and visiting the National Jamboree, among others.
The troop is also active in community service, committed to the annual Scouting for Food drive, placing flags on veterans' graves for Memorial Day and Veteran's Day, cemetery clean up for our sponsoring organization, and participation in local events.
Meetings are held throughout the school year on Wednesday nights starting at 6:30 pm in the St. Michael Church Hall. Come join us for the adventure of a lifetime!
