Fox Valley Technical College gave me the opportunity to earn my Associates degree and several certificates.
While employed with University of Arkansas, I was able to achieve the following certificates: Juniper Networks JNCIA-Junos, JNCIS-ENT, and JNCIP-ENT and; Infoblox CDCA and CDWS.
During a 3 month span of unemployment, I took initiative and earned the gold level of the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC).

Degrees
Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science
As I journey into further into the information technology world, I find myself relating more to computer scientists who constantly seek out different methods to effectively automate every day jobs, create and interpret new information, and seek new applications for technology to enhance the human experience. This bachelor’s degree will solidify my study in the theories of information and computation as well as implementing applications through practical approaches in a wide variety of computer systems.
I started down the road of a bachelor's with the University of Arkansas in January of 2020. This will take me some time to complete as I will be working full-time hence I do not yet have an expected graduation date.
Associates in IT - Network Specialist
This degree gave me a solid foundation in information technology and the skills to manage a single local area network or being able to work in a complex telecommunications wide area network environments. The skills learned were how to install and configure switches, routers, access points, operating systems, desktop repair and maintenance, security, cabling and scripting. The degree also gave me excellent communication and project management skills
Certificates
This certificate helped me learn how to design, implement and support a variety of computer networks; gave knowledge of network cabling and hardware technologies; hands-on training with voice, video and data applications, and learned about wireless networking configurations, standards and security.
This certificate helped me learn IP based telecommunication concepts such as preparing network routers and switches to work with Voice over IP and rotary phones and wireless technologies, and receiving hands-on training on the transmission, structure, architecture and design of voice, video and data networks.
This certificate helped me learn the techniques to complete and document software installations; gave me hands-on training with Intel-based system configuration and improvement, component care and troubleshooting; learned how to train end-users on Microsoft applications, and the ability to provide support in a corporate environment or for home users via phone, remote and retail counter support.
This certificate helped me learn skills needed to be an effective network administrator. The skills learned were how to configure and install network operating systems and applications in single, multi-platform and virtualized environments, and configure, operate and troubleshoot problems associated with various network operating systems.
Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA-Junos)
I earned this certificate while working with the University of Arkansas as a Network Technician with the Network Enterprise Systems Team. This certificate proves my understanding of networking fundamentals as well as core functionality of the Juniper Networks Junos OS including: Junos OS fundamentals, user interfaces, Junos configuration basics, operational monitoring and maintenance, routing fundamentals and, routing policy and firewall filters. I received this certificate on November 16th 2017 and expires on February 12th 2022. This certificate was automatically renewed since achieving the JNCIS-ENT certificate described below.
Juniper Enterprise Switching, JEX, Certificate of Completion
I earned this certificate, on May 17th 2018, by completing the two day Juniper Enterprise Switching course. This course provided me intermediate switching knowledge and configuration examples using Junos Enhanced Layer 2 Software. The course included an overview of switching concepts and operations, virtual LAN's, the Spanning Tree Protocol, port and device security features, and high availability features. This certificate of completion is in line with the JNCIS-ENT certification.
Infoblox Core DDI Configuration and Administration (CDCA) course Certificate of Completion
Gaining this certificate of completion, through a five-day course, on July 27th 2018 provided me an in-depth knowledge of how to configure and administer Infoblox appliances and the Infoblox Grid and manage the DNS and DHCP protocols in Infoblox. This included DNS Anycast, Dynamic DNS, and reporting.
Infoblox Core DDI WAPI Scripting (CDWS) Certificate of Completion
This intermediate certificate of completion, earned on August 29th 2018, gave me an understanding of the Infoblox WAPI and how to gain efficiency by using scripting to automate your administrative tasks. I was able to learn scripting rules and the data structures used by the Infoblox WAPI.
Junos Intermediate Routing, JIR, Certificate of Completion
This certificate of completion of the Juniper Intermediate Routing two-day course, earned on November 6th 2019, provided me with intermediate routing knowledge and configuration examples. This included an overview of protocol independent routing features, load balancing and filter-based forwarding, OSPF, BGP, IP tunneling, and high-availability (HA) features. The course helps pave the way to earn the JNCIS-ENT certification.
Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist (JNCIS-ENT)
Becoming a Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist (Enterprise Switching and Routing track) has allowed me to prove and demonstrate an intermediate knowledge and understanding of routing and switching implementations in Junos. I earned this certificate on February 12th 2019 and expires on February 12th 2022. This also renews my associate level Juniper certification and now expires on the same date.
Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional (JNCIP-ENT)
With my most recent certification accomplishment, I am now a Juniper Networks Certified Internet Profession (Enterprise Switching and Routing track) - JNCIP-ENT. This certification validates my understanding of enterprise routing and switching technologies and related platform configuration and troubleshooting skills, and having an advanced knowledge of the Junos OS. I earned this certificate in February of 2022 and expires in Feburary of 2025. As with other certifications in this track, this also renews my specialist and associate level certification.

Infoblox Core DDI Configuration & Administration (CDCA) Certificate of Achievement
After passing an exam based on the Infoblox Core DDI Configuration & Administration course (mentioned above) I was then able to achieve the CDCA certificate of achievement. This achievement was completed on August 10th 2018 and expires on August 10th 2020.
Certificated HIPAA Privacy Associate (CHPA)
I earned this nationally recognized entry level certification while working at JMARK Business Solutions, Inc. Knowledge gained from this certificate was an overview on the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rule which also included the new August 2013 Omnibus Rule. I received this certificate on November 30, 2016 and expired on November 30, 2019.
