Primate Evolution Lab

Welcome to our Primate Evolution Lab at the University of Salford. The research scope of our lab includes ecology evolution and biodiversity conservation of South American primates. Our focus is on fieldwork in Brazil at myriad field sites (Amazon and Atlantic Forest).

In addition, we are using newly generated genomic data to systematically review the current taxonomy of all Platyrrhini, uncovering cryptic diversity and revising IUCN threat assessments.  We are also using Species Distribution Modelling, including future predictive environmental modeling, to more accurately determine primate distributions, habitat requirements, and predict future losses of habitat due to forest conversion and global climate change.
