Bohicket Landing
Neighborhood Crime Watch
Residents of Bohicket Landing may have noticed the addition and changes to several road signs in our subdivision:
- The Posted Speed Limit has changed to 25 Miles per Hour throughout our community; please observe the posted speed limit to ensure the safety of our children and be in compliance with state law.
- “Slow-Children Playing” sign has been installed to reinforce the concerns for our children’s’ safety; since we have no sidewalks, and our children are relegated to playing and riding their bicycles on the public streets.
- “No Soliciting” sign has been added in an effort to limit un-solicited vendors from our neighborhood. Any unwanted vendors that visit your homes should be made aware of our community’s policy on restricting solicitations. Further solicitations should be reported to the Onslow County Sheriff’s Department.
- “No Outlet” sign has been added to inform transients that we have a closed community and is otherwise inaccessible to other outlets. This initiative is meant to minimize unnecessary transient traffic.
- “Neighborhood Crime Watch” sign lets transients know that they are being observed and any suspicious activity will be immediately reported to authorities. This program is meant to be a community involvement initiative, where all residents are asked to be vigilant in observing not only their own property, but the properties of neighbors as well. Should you observe suspicious activity, you are encouraged to report it immediately to authorities (911). There has been a history of vehicle break-ins particularly during the summer months here in Bohicket Landing. Please be sure to remove valuables and lock your vehicle’s doors.
