As discussed at our annual meeting, held on 7 JUN 15, the association will be making greater use of electronic communications to encourage more participation from its members and to reduce the association’s operating costs.
Annual assessments, special assessments, and/or notice of violations will still be forwarded by U.S. Mail as required by the association’s by-laws, but other association business (such as meeting notices, rule changes, election ballots, and other communications as permitted by North Carolina General Statutes 55 and 47F) may be distributed by email or posted on the association website.
In order to implement this process and to keep our members informed, we're asking all owners or their agents to provide a valid email address. If you have not recently replied to our email request, please forward a current email address to the Board of Directors Secretary and/or Vice President, so the association can verify it has an accurate email address on file for each member. Also please include the email address of any authorized agent who may be acting on your behalf.
The association respects your privacy and will not share your email address or other personal identifying information without your permission. You will only receive electronic communications from either the associations official email address and/or from a Director or Committee member’s email address that is listed on the directory page of the Bohicket Landing HOA website. We encourage you to visit the directory page and to add the Directors and/or Committee members email addresses to the address book of your email program so as to prevent the association’s electronic communications from being inadvertently marked as spam or junk mail.
As required by North Carolina General Statute 47F, you may opt-out of electronic communications by providing written notification that you do not wish to receive electronic communications and instead wish to receive notices or ballots by postal mail and/or hand delivery. You may provide written notification by sending an email to the Secretary and/or Vice President and including the words “OPT-OUT” in the subject line or message body. You may also mail your opt-out notification to the postal address listed below if desired.
Please note that we will be sending some notices in the next couple weeks regarding the Architectural Standards Committee and guidelines, possible improvements to the boat ramp, and other association business, so please be sure to check your email inbox and the HOA website for these announcements. Thank you for your timely response and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
