Enlarging images to see more detail
Regrettably, you will find various instructions on how to enlarge images on my website, due to how the software has changed over time. I'm not saying it is due to how I have modified the software; it is due to new releases of the Google website software acting differently than previous code. Originally "Click image to enlarge; click back arrow <- to return to this page" worked for the browsers with which I tested it (MS Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Firefox). Firefox is still working well; too bad so few people use Firefox. Now, if using MS Explorer, this "sort of " still works. You click on the image, and it opens and asks if you want to open in a new tab. If you indicate that you do, you then get an enlarged image. To close, you simply close that tab. However, you then need to use the arrow at the top left of the page to go back to the previous page (before enlarging the image), and continue.
Using Google Chrome, right click the image and select "open link in a new window" to enlarge. I would suggest a little trial and error with other browsers. To see an enlarged image, it seems you need to open that image in a new tab.
I apologize for something that should be simple being complex. I am a painter, not a web developer, and am using free Google software. Good luck; I appreciate your patience!
