Homework:

There will be about 8 homework assignments. You have 5 days to finish the homework from the date announced (usually on Friday and turn in on Wednesday), unless otherwise specified. Homework should be emailed to me as pdf files. Latex version is highly recommended, photo scan is acceptable. No late homework will be accepted.

Exams:

One in-class mid-term (~mid Feb) and one final exam (~early June ), both are close-book. The mid-term and final exams will have ~50% overlap with homework. One of the questions at the final exam will be related to your presentation, on the individual basis.

Presentation:

The last 2-3 classes are students presentations. Each presentation will be prepared by a group of two or three. The presentation will be equally distributed within the group, taking a total of about 30 minutes. You should choose your team member and inform me immediately after Mid-term, otherwise I will assign the team mate for you. A selection of topics will be given before mid-term.

Grading:

Homework contribute 40% of your final grade. Mid-term and finals each contribute 20% and 25% to your final grade.

The presentation contribute 15% to your final grade.

Students with Special Needs:

Accommodations are collaborative efforts between students, faculty and Disability Access Services (DAS). Students with accommodations approved through DAS are responsible for contacting the faculty member in charge of the course prior to or during the first week of the term to discuss accommodations. Students who believe they are eligible for accommodations but who have not yet obtained approval through DAS should contact DAS immediately at 737-4098.

Students with documented disabilities who may need accommodations, who have any emergency medical information which the instructor should know of, or who need special arrangements in the event of evacuation, should make an appointment with the instructor as early as possible, no later than the first week of the term.

Student conduct policies:

See http://oregonstate.edu/studentconduct/regulations/index.php for more information. This includes policies about cheating and so on.
