Thank you for this wandering
You've taken me again
I tried to stay at home and settle in
Laying down the easy lies
I lived up to the compromise
But now I find a promise in the wind
Thanks to the rising tide
On the ocean's weathered shore
I knew that I'd come rolling home once more
I knew that I'd come back to this
Remembering my innocence
Now I can almost hear it
The voice of the spirit
Saying it's only a matter of time
Life is ever-changing
And in some strange way it stays the same
So many things I do not understand
Taller than the tallest tree
And deeper than the see
I am as small as the finest grain of sand
Thanks to the rising star
That has set my heart to roam
No matter where you are you call me home
The knowledge of my birth and death
Closer now with every breath
Until the moment finds me
This changing reminds me
It's only a matter of time
Blissfully, I'm unaware
Of just how small a share in all of this
Is my little part to play
Lifted as a child up
To my father's knee
I prosper free and wild
A little wiser every day
Thanks to the turning tide
That has brought me to the sea
I no longer deny its hold on me
And I don' t need to go the distance
Cuaght up in my own resistance
Bound up in my sorrow
There's always tomorrow
It's only a matter of time
The knowledge of my birth and death
Closer now with every breath
Until the moment finds me
This changing reminds me
It's only a matter of time
I
