22 Hornet Rifle For Sale - A Review of a Long Forgotten Gun
What could be better than the ability to look at a toy, a long forgotten product of a bygone era, and wonder whether it was worth having or not? However you may look at it, there is one thing that you can say for this product, it was built with a high degree of quality and design. It is the sort of thing that if not for its price, it would be considered to be a collectible.
I know I am lucky to have been able to have such beautiful toy as a son to play with. These days things are getting cheaper, and toy guns have become increasingly rare.
It does not mean I regret having it though. On the contrary, I love it as a memento of a great time I had while growing up. Whether I bought it for myself or a kid to play with, I was happy for it.
There were the boys in my neighbourhood who used to get together and play this gun like there was no tomorrow. The kids seemed to take delight in blowing the guns up. They called it the 'hornet gun' and for some reason, I liked the sound of it.
Hornet guns were not made at that time, but someone had come up with the idea of making them from surplus military stuff. They would use scrap gun parts that had been left over from the war. The scrap gun parts were milled and punched to make them into the gun they wanted.
I guess they thought the bullet hole designs would make them more interesting. I have often wondered about those bullet holes. As a kid, I would not have looked on that gun as anything more than a toy, I certainly never gave it a second thought as a collector's item. However, I am one of those people who, when given the opportunity, took it seriously. This gun had become a serious collector's item and has become an important part of my life. So I started to look at a 22 hornet rifle for sale.
There are many similar guns out there. Not all of them are as good as the ones I had. I like the simplicity of the design and it would be good to have something like that in my collection. Many of them are still being produced, so if I am to get one, I want to be sure that it is going to be a good one.
My new collector's dream was a reproduction of the one I had. After having worked hard for the money needed for the project, I had finally got a model of it. But as a toy gun, it was definitely not the same as the original, so I did some research into the original to see if there was a way to make it look as good as the original.
It had been made from a very good product, and I went out and bought myself a clear plastic case and a barrel extension. The stock, although it was a good quality one, was not a replica of the original, so I felt it would look even better in the case. Once I had this done, I was off on my quest to find the best military surplus parts for this gun.
I have gone out and bought many of these parts myself. By taking the information I have learnt from others, I am now able to help others with the same task and I am quite proud of what I have managed to do.
