Pre-visit information

At Bellbunya you will experience an eco-friendly, rural, ’get away from it all’ experience. We are not a regular hotel or homestay, so we have included some things to be aware of before you come:

Bring with you: torch, umbrella, sunscreen, hat and insect repellent.

    • Rooms: We aim for our accommodation to be clean, low-toxic and ecologically friendly. Rooms have thermal insulation and are cooled by fans and ventilation, rather than energy intensive air conditioning. We do not offer a full room service so it is up to you to maintain your room yourself for the time you are here. Of course, please see us if there are any problems or if you need something, and we will do our best to look after you.

    • Bellbunya is a no-smoking zone. Please take a stroll off the property if you need to smoke.

    • Alcohol is not used at Bellbunya. If you bring your own, please drink privately, respectfully and responsibly.

    • Drugs: Our community is drug free. Illegal drugs are not tolerated.

    • Pets: Please make other arrangements for your beloved pets as we cannot accommodate them.

    • Phones: There are no phones in the rooms and good mobile phone reception is generally only possible above the vegetable gardens. A landline is available on request.

    • Television: There are no televisions or other electronic media in the rooms.

    • Internet: Ethernet cable is available in the Hall and Magpie suite and, by arrangement, in the kitchen office in the community house. We do not offer Wifi.

    • Campfires: There is a fire pit near the community house and also near the dam. Please bring firewood with you. Fires are not permitted when a total fire ban is declared so please always check with us first.

    • Getting here and away: The How to find us page contains directions and a map plus information about public transport and taxis. We encourage group members to carshare to get to Bellbunya. Apart from being cheaper, it's better for the environment and much more fun! Bellbunya is 15 minutes by car to Eumundi and the nearest public transport. It may be possible to get a lift with a community member if they are heading where you want to go and have a spare seat, if your timetable is flexible. A community member may be available to meet you and return you to Eumundi for $10 per trip. If available, a commercial taxi between Bellbunya and Eumundi on average costs approximately $35 (phone 13 1008).

    • Things to do: Take a look at our Things to do Around Bellbunya page for a hint of some of the many interesting and exciting things you can do in the area.
