Peter Hoddle presents

Transformation of the Self: A Metaphysical Workshop

Friday October 1, 2010

The purpose of this 2 day workshop is to help you to find the pathway to your true self. In modern life most of us live in both outer and inner noise, all of which blocks our ability to hear the voice of our true self. Many of us often avoid the quiet because it can be uncomfortable to feel the internal disorder of our suppressed emotions and unresolved issues from past experiences. All of this creates the inner noise. This noise protects us from being exposed to what we may not be ready to deal with. This workshop is for those of you who feel ready to look and clear some of this noise so you might hear the whispers of your soul, thus transforming the Self.

EARTH, SPIRIT, ACTION

an experiential deep ecology workshop

with John Seed

Friday September 17, 2010

Human identity exists at the intersection of the ancient cycles of air, water and soil. In spite of the pervasive illusion of separation, in reality no separation is possible between nature and ourselves. By acknowledging our interconnectedness we invite the spontaneous healing of the psyche.

Using personal sharing, experiential deep ecology and creative exercises, we dissolve the separation between person and planet. Vision and empowerment arise naturally from realigning ourselves with the living Earth.

Proceeds will benefit the reforestation of the sacred mountain Arunachala in South Indiawww.rainforestinfo.org.au/video/shiva_v.html.

When: 9am Saturday September 18 to 5pm Sunday 19

Where: Bellbunya, 114 Browns Road, Belli Park

Cost: $185 (includes lunches and Saturday night dinner but no accommodation) or $205 (includes meals plus Saturday night accommodation) or $240 (includes meals plus Friday and Saturday night accommodation). Pay your deposit online via our secure gateway.

Contact: To book, please email karyn@bellbunya.org.au or for more information phone Elaine Smith on 07 5496 3537.

Author, songwriter, bard, filmaker, lecturer, activist. John Seed is founder and director of the Rainforest Information Centrewww.rainforestinfo.org.au. He has written and lectured extensively on deep ecology and has been conducting Councils of All Beings and other re-Earth ing workshops around the world for 25 years. With Joanna Macy, Pat Fleming and Professor Arne Naess, he wrote "Thinking Like a Mountain - Towards a Council of All Beings" which has now been translated into 10 languages. In 1995 he was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for services to conservation and the environment.

(fundraiser for reforestation projects in India)

Deep Ecology is a philosophy of nature which sees that underlying the environmental crisis there is a psychological or spiritual disease stemming from the illusion of separation between humans and the rest of the natural world. The late Arne Naess, Emeritus Professor of Philosophy from Oslo University, Norway who coined the term "deep ecology" pointed out that our "ecological ideas are not enough to protect the Earth, we need ecological identity, ecological self". With a presentation which includes music and poetry, John Seed shows us how to nourish our ecological identity and align ourselves with Earth.

The experience of deep ecology leads to a deepening of our love for the natural world and empowerment and vision for the protection of Nature. In the 2nd part of this presentation, John will speak of this and show a couple of short films about projects for the protection of nature in Sth India including the reforestation of Arunachala in Tamil Nadu and the protection of the world's largest remaining population of wild Asian elephants in the Nilgiris.

‘Satsing’

An en-Chanting evening with samjjana

This uplifting gathering is for the purpose of engaging in the ancient practice of Nada Yoga - using sound to raise consciousness, enhance peace and wellbeing, and for the offering and receiving of blissful, healing vibrations.

It is also for the heart-expanding joy of expressing oneself through sound, in unity with others - knowing that the voice is a divine sound instrument regardless of whether one can 'sing' or not in the conventional sense. No minimum standard, no previous experience necessary!

As well as giving voice to various samjjana chants received from Spirit, this night is also intended to be an informal, organic unfoldment based on the collective energy on the night.

A Satsing may include such things as: sounding mantras ~ bhajans (sacred Vedic songs) ~ singing rounds ~ sound baths ~ voice improvisations ~ sounding and toning ~ instruments of musical alchemy (including the hang, wooden flutes and Alchemy crystal bowls) ~ sharing wisdom about sound and voice.

You can turn up on the night, though registering your interest is recommended if you would like the convenience of being contacted in the event of any unexpected changes.
