Weaving Words of Wisdom

An invitation to align your inner voice with the work you want to do in the world

Have you something you wish to say?

Do you struggle to find the words to give your vision form in the world?

Do you struggle to turn the dryness of bureaucracy and administrivia into magic?

The act of weaving in certain Indigenous cultures was seen as a deeply spiritual act. The patterns often had profound significance and represented sacred symbols. Stories and energy would be integrated into their work, and the ‘weavers’ would see their task as literally weaving the world into existence. This is the inspiration behind the title and theme of this unique workshop.

This workshop will:

- take you on a journey into your heart

- guide you back into the world of action with skills and greater clarity

- allow you to have a deeper sense of purpose

- develop the skills to align this inner sense with our world’s work

Our world needs every voice to advocate for rich and inclusive futures. We need every one with a passion to be able to speak their truth from the heart. The pain of feeling silenced is part of the Earth’s pain. The joy of speaking one’s Truth is part of the global healing process. Come take the time with us to simply go within and find the balance between our heart’s centre and the world we work for.

The weekend will weave together a triad of processes: Yoga, Meditation and Writing.

This is a fundraiser in partnership with FuturesEvocative, Bellbunya Eco Retreat Centre and the Sacred Chef for an Ananda Marga School being built in India.

Natural Leadership

There is a new paradigm emerging in leadership today that recognises the natural world as teacher and guide. It is based on the way in which living systems evolve as interconnected webs of life. This understanding invites us to cultivate a deeper relationship to the natural world, ourselves, and each other. We become active partners of evolving life, co-creating with Earth and each other, to cultivate a world of difference.

Friday July 1 to Saturday July 2, 2011

'Community Sampler Experience' and Open Day

Natural Leadership will use experiential processes to re-member who we truly are and so perceive our own unique Leadership story.

In relationship with others, workshop processes will support participants to become aware of the interconnectedness of all of life, to listen deeply, share wisely and reflect authentically. Natural leadership will prepare the ground for seeds of change in participants, so that working collaboratively and with confidence in their unique gifts, they develop their capacity to lead change in the family, community and work place. They develop a greater facility to generate sustainability outcomes in the world.

Much of the workshop will be held outside in the natural world, and participants will need to dress accordingly. We suggest layers, a good raincoat and practical footwear, with thick socks or ugg boots for indoors.

Cob Building ~ Clay Rendering Workshop

Saturday June 4, 2011

Bellbunya Community Sampler - following on from 'Joy for Japan'

Ever thought about joining a community?... Want to explore a sustaining lifestyle?

If you missed out so far, don't despair - you can feel the earth move this time!

You are invited to a hands-on clay rendering workshop, the final stage in construction of this unique cob building...

We are trying to finish the little building before winter, so the little hobbit from the forest can move in.

Cob is an ancient, simple and yet extremely versatile and beautiful building method. The main tools are your hands and feet, whilst the materials are earth and straw. Cob has stood the test of time - with many European cob cottages that are hundreds of years old. In Yemen, cob has even been used to build 10 story buildings. Cob is simple, very forgiving and very manual. Cob removes building from the experts and gives it the people - it's great for groups of people to work on together. Without any machinery noise or dangerous tools, children and adults can work side by side and have fun, whilst creating from cob.

Come along to help finish the building of the little shed, while learning all about this timeless building method, have some fun in the mud and get to know some like-minded people. Tell your friends, too, but book soon - numbers limited to 10 cobbers. Children welcome, but limited to total of 5.

A screening of Gasland - essential viewing!

About the film...

"The largest domestic natural gas drilling boom in history has swept across the UnitedStates. The Halliburton-developed drilling technology of "fracking" or hydraulic fracturing has unlocked a "Saudia Arabia of natural gas" just beneath us. But is fracking safe? When filmmaker Josh Fox is asked to lease his land for drilling, he embarks on a cross-country odyssey uncovering a trail of secrets, lies and contamination. A recently drilled nearby Pennsylvania town reports that residents are able to light their drinking water on fire. This is just one of the many absurd and astonishing revelations of a new country called GASLAND. Part verite travelogue, part expose, part mystery, part bluegrass banjo meltdown, part showdown."

This film has rave reviews from film goers and environmentalists and loud denigration from gas companies. Now, as much of Queensland and other parts of Australia are being opened up to coal seam gas (CSG) exploration, described recently on both Four Corners and 60 Minutes, the movie can provide us in Australia an insight into the processes and problems we could well be heading for with scary speed.

Evolutionary Leadership

Sunday April 3

The Evolving Self

(Part of the workshop series: "In Partnership with Life: The foundations of Evolutionary Leadership")

Evolutionary leaders are found in all walks of life, in business, organizations and families.eCoevolutionaries is offering a series of 4 workshops to assist those of you who are inhabited by a desire to grow and bring forward a life-giving future. These workshops aim to create the foundations for both living as an evolutionary and for leading evolutionary change. On this evening, which preceeds the first workshop, Caresse Cranwell will give a presentation on the ideas behind evolutionary leadership.

There is a new paradigm emerging in leadership today. It is one that is based on the way in which living systems have evolved and function as dynamic, creative, resilient, emergent wholes. It invites us to understand ourselves as a living system, as a dynamic whole, who has the capacity to continually realize more of its possibility. It offers us the potential to see that we are part of the larger systemic wholes—community, society, Gaia—and that we partner their emergence. It is a view that invites us to become Evolutionary Leaders, consciously in co-creative partnership with life itself. In the workshop we will experience the self as a dynamic, inherently transformative living system AND explore the evolutionary hardwiring that keeps us operating from limiting ways of being, seeing and relating. Our aim is deepen self-awareness and expand our sense of identity with the evolving whole.

Detox

Detoxification is about removing the obstacles which allow the innate healing capacity of the body. This workshop is designed to work on the physical, mental and emotional obstacles which can lead to toxicity and which, if left unchecked, become a part of our daily life and feel ‘normal’. Over time, this toxicity can cause a diverse range of symptoms such as headaches, nausea, digestive symptoms, blood sugar imbalances, emotional volatility, mental fog, depression, low energy levels and even chronic fatigue syndrome.

This workshop is a prototype and will be presented at nearly half price, all inclusive. The physical cleanse over the 3 days will include light organic meals, practitioner range supplementation to support detoxification, enemas to lighten the physical symptoms, detox specific yoga and full-time naturopathic and emotional support. It is facilitated by Rudran Brannock and Max Zoulek, both experienced practitioners in their field.

Peter Hoddle presents

Transformation of the Self: A Metaphysical Workshop

Friday October 1, 2010

The purpose of this 2 day workshop is to help you to find the pathway to your true self. In modern life most of us live in both outer and inner noise, all of which blocks our ability to hear the voice of our true self. Many of us often avoid the quiet because it can be uncomfortable to feel the internal disorder of our suppressed emotions and unresolved issues from past experiences. All of this creates the inner noise. This noise protects us from being exposed to what we may not be ready to deal with. This workshop is for those of you who feel ready to look and clear some of this noise so you might hear the whispers of your soul, thus transforming the Self.

EARTH, SPIRIT, ACTION

an experiential deep ecology workshop

with John Seed

Friday September 17, 2010

Human identity exists at the intersection of the ancient cycles of air, water and soil. In spite of the pervasive illusion of separation, in reality no separation is possible between nature and ourselves. By acknowledging our interconnectedness we invite the spontaneous healing of the psyche.

Using personal sharing, experiential deep ecology and creative exercises, we dissolve the separation between person and planet. Vision and empowerment arise naturally from realigning ourselves with the living Earth.

Proceeds will benefit the reforestation of the sacred mountain Arunachala in South Indiawww.rainforestinfo.org.au/video/shiva_v.html.

When: 9am Saturday September 18 to 5pm Sunday 19

Where: Bellbunya, 114 Browns Road, Belli Park

Cost: $185 (includes lunches and Saturday night dinner but no accommodation) or $205 (includes meals plus Saturday night accommodation) or $240 (includes meals plus Friday and Saturday night accommodation). Pay your deposit online via our secure gateway.

Contact: To book, please email karyn@bellbunya.org.au or for more information phone Elaine Smith on 07 5496 3537.

Author, songwriter, bard, filmaker, lecturer, activist. John Seed is founder and director of the Rainforest Information Centrewww.rainforestinfo.org.au. He has written and lectured extensively on deep ecology and has been conducting Councils of All Beings and other re-Earth ing workshops around the world for 25 years. With Joanna Macy, Pat Fleming and Professor Arne Naess, he wrote "Thinking Like a Mountain - Towards a Council of All Beings" which has now been translated into 10 languages. In 1995 he was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for services to conservation and the environment.

(fundraiser for reforestation projects in India)

Deep Ecology is a philosophy of nature which sees that underlying the environmental crisis there is a psychological or spiritual disease stemming from the illusion of separation between humans and the rest of the natural world. The late Arne Naess, Emeritus Professor of Philosophy from Oslo University, Norway who coined the term "deep ecology" pointed out that our "ecological ideas are not enough to protect the Earth, we need ecological identity, ecological self". With a presentation which includes music and poetry, John Seed shows us how to nourish our ecological identity and align ourselves with Earth.

The experience of deep ecology leads to a deepening of our love for the natural world and empowerment and vision for the protection of Nature. In the 2nd part of this presentation, John will speak of this and show a couple of short films about projects for the protection of nature in Sth India including the reforestation of Arunachala in Tamil Nadu and the protection of the world's largest remaining population of wild Asian elephants in the Nilgiris.
