Curriculum Vitae
I am an associate professor at the Department of Economics and Business of the Central European University in Austria, and a senior research fellow at the KRTK Institute of Economics in Hungary. I am a research affiliate at CEPR.
I received my Ph.D. degree in 2007 from the Central European University and an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics. My research is focused on international economics; economic geography and applied IO, and was published among others by the Global Strategy Journal, Journal of International Economics, Regional Science and Urban Economics or Economic Policy and have authored blogs and commentary on VOXEU.org and other outlets. I worked in several projects of European Commission and the ECB.
At CEU I teach a sequence of Data Analysis courses. With Gábor Kézdi, we wrote a new comprehensive textbook "Data Analysis for Business, Economics, and Policy) for Cambridge University Press, published in May 2021.
Békés Gábor az MTA KRTK Közgazdaságtudományi Intézetének tudományos munkatársa és a Közép-Európai Egyetem (CEU) docense. Kutatási területei: nemzetközi közgazdaságtan, vállalati telephely-választás és termelékenység és regionális gazdaságtan. Gábor 2000-ben szerezte meg a London School of Economics közgazdaságtani mester-diplomája, a és Közép-Európai Egyetemen doktorált 2007-ben. Az elmúlt években dolgozott az Európai Bizottság és az ECB vezette kutatási programokban. Számos vezető nemzetközi folyóiratban (Global Strategy Journal, Journal of International Economics, Regional Science and Urban Economics or Economic Policy ) publikált, és írt a VOXEU.org és más blogokra is. Jelenleg a Közép-európai Egyetemen adatelemzést tanít. Kézdi Gáborral szerzője egy átfogó tankönyvnek; a Cambridge University Press 2021 májusban adta ki "Adatelemzés üzleti, közgazdasági és szakpolitikai témákhoz" címmel.
