Baltimore Electronic Music Fest 2009 photos

06/29/2009

Hello to all. The Baltimore Electronic Music Fest 2009 festival on June 27th 2009 was a huge success. Everything went well, performers & audience members had a fantastic time and the festival ended way before the originally posted stopping time.

A big THANK YOU & a JOB WELL DONE goes to Karl Ekdahl & Logan Terkelsen of The Hexagon for such a fine job of running two sound systems on two separate performance stages and for keeping it all sounding great. Not an easy job to do. Also, thank you for hosting this event as well. We couldn't have done it without you.

Hal Schmulowitz, Karl Ekdahl & myself have been planning this event since January & we're really glad that everything went so well as it wasn't easy making sure that it all stayed together.

The Duc D'Angelos Quartet were a great opening act. Check out their MySpace video of their set at the festival. http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.channel&friendID=431703498&n=431703498

Richard Lainhart (http://www.otownmedia.com/he/completeworks.htm) did a beautiful 2-song set with his Buchla Synthesizer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buchla) & Continuum Controller (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continuum_%28instrument%29),

Joe Wall played an amazingly soothing tune.

BearAndLampshade (Rob & Ross) were our youngest performers & put on a very surprising & fabulous set.

Amber Dunleavy (Echolalia) was absolutely fabulous on the Theremin.

Dana & Scott of Aerosolized Mucus played a great set.

Don Felipe & the Ken Rei group are a really hot sounding quartet.

Keith Sinzinger (Fast Forty) was great.

"Myo" & Chloe played a great set. Unfortunately "Violet" of Violet & Myo was not able to make the event as originally planned.

Dave Vosh, myself & Hal Schmulowitz did a very nice impromptu piece.

Christopher Feltner of the Kingdom of Sharks was fantastic.

David Rickert & Davis White of RDK did some hot analog synthesizer numbers.

Howard Moscovitz & Bill Fox did some great songs on guitar & synthesizers.

Jeff Bagato (Tone Ghosting) did a great closeout tune.

The food at The Caribbean Paradise Inn 1818 North Charles Street Baltimore MD 21201 was fabulous, especially the curry shrimp.

Please check out the photos in the attachments section below.

Thanks again to everyone involved for great time & a very successful event.

Our next festival is on Sept 5th, 2009 at the National Electronics Museum in Linthicum MD (National Electronics Museum Electronica Fest 2009 - http://sites.google.com/site/baltimoresdiygroup/Home/group-shows/national-electronics-museum-electronica-fest-2009). Some of the performers at the Baltimore Electronic Music Fest 2009 will be appearing at the Sept 5th festival as well,so please come on out & give them your support.
