Baltimore Electronic Music 2010 SummerFest 06262010 photos set 2 of 2

Another successful electronic music festival.

Thank you to all who performed as we all had a great time.

Everyone's performance was nicely done & well received by the audience.

It was a long day & the live TV broadcast that Fox45 unexpectedly gave us on June 25th was a definite blast as we never expected that to happen.

One of our groupmembers, Davis White from the group RDK, was kind enough to digitally recorded a "behind-the-scenes" look of this event which he titled "Baltimore SDIY Users Group on WBFF FOX45 Behind The Scenes". He posted this 9 minute 39 seconds video to YouTube at the following website, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhYx901B414. Very professionally done.

Davis, thank you so much for doing this as it's greatly appreciated.

Here are 3 more videos of us from that live video shoot -

1. Baltimore SDIY Group & Friends live TV promo #1 of 3 on 06/25/2010, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADJC3hFMLyY.

2. Baltimore SDIY Group & Friends live TV promo #2 of 3 on 06/25/2010, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7knM4u2igY.

Thank you to Dave Vosh for also taking video of everyone's performance at this event & at all past events. You are the group's videographer & archivist, and your efforts are greatly appreciated as well.

For future videotaping, Dave suggested that we have more light on stage at indoor venues so that he can use his videocamera's normal setting to show color as opposed to its night-vision setting which will show just a black & white image instead if the indoor lighting is too low. Good idea.

Thanks also goes out to Joseph Meyer aka Jerohme Spye, who created a great poster for the event.

Thanks again to Josh Atkins of The Hexagon for being gracious enough to get up so early to open up the venue at 5:00am on June 25th so that we could have three live broadcasts as a promotion for the festival on June 26th.

We had 28 performers total, (including 3 for Bear & Lampshade - Rob Neubauer on keyboards & laptop computer, on turntables and other controllers was Esmail Hamidi, and on Tuba/misc. was Jamie Kellner).

We hope to be able to do many more shows at The Hexagon in the near & distant future as it's truly a great venue run by great people with an ideal loaction & one hell of a nice sound system too.

I took about 216 photos. Since there are so many I had to create two separate websites to get them all uploaded.

Here are the two website links & the number of photos on each one. All photos are in each website's ATTACHMENTS section.

We learned some things on June 25th during the live TV broadcast, that it can be fun yet tedious at times at that in Richard Desimone's case that we have to make sure that the TV studio can hear him clearly as we play before the live broadcast takes place. Some of the feedback that Igot from people who saw us on TV stated that they could hear me talikng before the music, that the music sounded good but they could not hear Richard's voice clearly or loudly enough while we played.

One thing we learned on June 26th during the festival, and I did discuss this with Josh Atkins, is that the extra seating made a difference in the number of people who stayed to see a lot of the performances. We now know that for our kinds of music, which is the type that you sit down, listen to it & take it all in, that the extra seating is a big advantage for all of our future shows at The Hexagon.

To all performers, again it was a great time had by all & I look forward to doing this all again real soon.

Stay in touch as I'll do the same.
