Statistical Notes

WE FINISHED!!!

Thank you all so much for your generous donations - we have raised an absolutely staggering amount of money. Thanks also to everyone who housed us, fed us, cheered us on at the finish, or just laughed at us on route.... it all helps. A few stats:

7am to 8pm Saturday........... 7am to 7pm Sunday

8500 calories burnt each

We were winning the race for almost an hour, but finished in 27,000 place.

Running repairs used 7 zip ties and 3 packs of superglue; The wheel finally collapsed 6 metres after the finish line!

Including donations along the way, we have raised nearly £2,700 (plus a stack of gift aid) - THANKS TO YOU!!

BREAKING NEWS! My lovely employers (npower) have agreed to match your donations pound for pound up to £1000 so the target has been raised accordingly!

Hello All!

In three days time, I am cycling from London to Brighton on the stupidest bike I know.

It has 5 inch wheels, no gears, goes slower than walking pace, and doesn't even have a beer holder.

As anyone who has ever tried it will know, you have to crumple your whole body just to fit on the tiny saddle, then you ride with your knees bobbing near your ears.

One pedal moves it forward exactly 36cm. Do the Math.

It is 54 miles and is going to take me 2 days of solid cycling

My legendary brother has volunteered to accompany me for the adventure. So he is walking the distance of two marathons back-to-back. Over the South Downs. Stupidity runs deep in this family!

Why? For the MS Society - a charity we really care about. Besides, you wouldn't sponsor me to do something I might enjoy!

So please dig really deep - every penny counts..... twice in fact
