Sign up here: AUDITION SIGN-UPS
Please read through all of the information on this page and on the "Character Breakdown and Audition Materials" page. Before your audition, you must print out and complete the Audition Form and bring it to your audition.
AUDITIONS
Auditions will be held in person at Amador and Foothill. We will begin with a vocal audition, then a dance audition. You MUST attend both the vocal audition and the dance audition to be cast in the show.
After those two initial auditions, there will be callback auditions at the end of the week. Anyone interested in being cast must attend the initial vocal and dance auditions to be considered. Foothill's vocal auditions will be Monday, November 18, Amador's vocal auditions will be Tuesday, November 19 and all dance auditions will occur on Wednesday, November 20. Callbacks will take place that Thursday and Friday (see calendar for details). Please sign up for an audition time on our school designated sign up genius link below.
VOCAL AUDITIONS
Choose any Contemporary (post-1990) musical theater song to audition with. Your song MAY NOT be from The Addams Family. You will sing one verse and one chorus OR between 30 seconds and one minute of the song.
Your audition must be a cappella- meaning you will sing on your own with no accompaniment or backing track. This means you can also choose your own key (how high or low you'll sing your song). You are encouraged to know your starting note and ask for it to be played before you begin singing.
This audition is for you to show off your unique voice, so pick a song and a key that are comfortable for you.
DANCE AUDITIONS
You will learn the dance at the dance audition on Wednesday, 11/20. You must wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that you can dance in. Bring a water bottle!
After going through all of this information, please go to the next page Audition Materials and Character Break Down.
CALLBACKS
Vocal callbacks will be specific character songs with backing tracks. These will be posted Wednesday (11/20) night after all vocal and dance auditions are finished.
All vocal music audition callback music & Acting sides will be posted on the Audition Materials and Character Break Down page.
Listen to the Original Broadway Cast recording and read the character descriptions. Find the character(s) that fits your voice. If you don't want to audition for a lead part, you can select Ensemble. For callbacks, practice using the recording, the sheet music, and the practice instrumental recording. If you do your callback audition, it will be with this instrumental recording. Before your audition, please print out and complete the Audition Form and bring it to your audition.
Here are casting considerations that we consider.
