VOCAL AUDITIONS
Choose any Contemporary (post-1980) musical theater song to audition with. Your song MAY NOT be from The Prom. You will sing one verse and one chorus OR between 30 seconds and one minute of the song.
Your audition must be a cappella- meaning you will sing on your own with no accompaniment or backing track. This means you can also choose your own key (how high or low you'll sing your song). You are encouraged to know your starting note and ask for it to be played before you begin singing.
This audition is for you to show off your unique voice, so pick a song and a key that are comfortable for you. Audition Tip: Try to match the style or sound of the show/character you're auditioning for!
DANCE AUDITIONS
You will learn the first part of the dance here on your own, know it when you come to the audition. The second part of the dance will be taught at the dance audition on Wednesday, 11/20 at 4 pm. You must wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that you can dance in. Bring a water bottle!
After going through all of this information, please go to the next page Audition Materials and Character Break Down.
