Blair Kelly is a Program Delivery Lead for the Scholarly Services team at Deakin University Library, leading a team of Scholarly Services Librarians and a Learning Designer who deliver expert library services to students, teachers, researchers and professional staff working in STEMM disciplines. Blair has worked in libraries since 2007, with a health focus since 2014 which includes experience teaching EBP and systematic searching, and being part of systematic review teams. He has been a tutor with the AEBPLI since 2022.
Mina Nichols-Boyd is a practising librarian living and working in Naarm/Melbourne. As the Clinical Librarian at Austin Health she provides guidance on how to construct reproducible searches for systematic, scoping, and similar type reviews to support evidence-based practice. She has partnered with clinician-researchers on a number of different evidence synthesis projects and peer reviewed publications. Prior to working in the hospital system, Mina was an academic health librarian at Monash and La Trobe universities. Mina attended the Institute in 2016 and has been an instructor since 2023.
Kathryn Rough has been a tutor with AEBPLI since 2023 and was a participant at the second institute in 2012. Kathryn works 2 days a week at the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine (VIFM) as their Library Manager, and 3 days per week at the Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) as their Research Librarian. Kathryn is involved in expert searching, teaching and assists researchers with all types of reviews and literature searching.
Jeph Ko Jeph Ko is a Senior Librarian at Flinders University, specialising in research support and evidence-based practice. His work focuses on literature searching, review methodology, scholarly publishing, research data management, and research profile development. He is committed to strengthening research services through clear communication and ongoing professional development, including participation in the Australian Evidence-Based Practice Librarians’ Institute (AEBPLI).
Mario Sos is an Academic Services Librarian at Monash University. He works across the research community engaging with researchers and providing consultation services to support evidence synthesis—from scoping and search strategy design
Dawn Carlisle is a Research Services Librarian at the University of Auckland. She specialises in health literature searching and provides systematic review advice for postgraduate students and researchers, primarily within the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, but also supports those from other disciplines across the university. Dawn was a participant in the Institute in 2024 and has had the pleasure of joining the AEBPLI teaching team in 2025. She has a strong interest in evidence-based practice training and the evolving role of AI tools in research discovery and information literacy.
Co-Convenors
Janene Batten is the Associate Director, Research Engagement, in the Marx Science & Social Science Library, Yale University, Connecticut, USA. Over her career Janene has taught the principles of EBP to clinicians and librarians around the globe. She is also an expert in systematic review methodology, teaching, and guiding teams through the process. Janene has been a tutor with the AEBPLI for 10 years. Currently, she is an expert advisor, co-convenor, and tutor coach for the Institute.
Nikki May is a Library Services Manager with the SA Health Library Service (SAHLS). Drawing on extensive experience in both the academic and hospital library sectors, Nikki has a particular interest in advanced search methodology and evidence retrieval, focusing specifically on its practical application in supporting clinical decision-making. An interest that she brought to her past role as a tutor with AEBPLI, 2016-2019. Nikki is currently co-convenor for the 2026 iteration of the Institute and its ALIA special interest group.
Kathryn Ritchie is a Health Librarian at Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS) in Rockhampton, she blends clinical insight with research expertise to empower healthcare professionals. Dedicated to advancing evidence-based practice, she supports clinicians in discovering and applying the best available evidence through the design and execution of systematic type search strategies, and guidance in the development of quality and research projects.
Tony Courtenay has experience working in legal, high school, public and vocational Libraries. He has a wealth of knowledge and has facilitated conferences in the Library and Indigenous sectors.

Rosie Glynn is a Liaison Librarian at QUT supporting the Faculty of Health. She has held positions across both academic and hospital libraries and has experience as a learning designer.
Founders
Connie Schardt retired in 2013 as the Associate Director for Research & Education at the Medical Center Library at Duke University. At the Medical Center Library, her main focus was to support the practice of Evidence-Based Medicine. Connie is one of the original coordinators of the Institute.
Suzanne Lewis is Library Services Manager at the Central Coast Local Health District in NSW, Australia. Suzanne’s professional interests include evidence-based practice in both librarianship and health and professional development for librarians. Suzanne is one of the original coordinators of the Institute.
Lisa Kruesi completed her Ph.D. at the Faculty of Information Technology, Monash University, in 2021. She has experience working as a health library manager in top Australian research universities and at CSIRO. She was the Faculty Librarian, Health and Life Sciences at The University of Melbourne Library during 2017-2019. Lisa is one of the original coordinators of the Institute.
