CEP818
Instructors: Dr. Punya Mishra, Kristen Kereluik, and Laura Terry
Semester: Fall 2012
This class asked me to examine my teaching and look for more creative and innovative ways to present the information and skills to my students. Often, I was asked to present the topic in a different medium than usual. So for example, instead of presenting rhythms auditorily (as they are heard), I presented them visually and physically, using pieces of paper students could manipulate. We examined seven major tools to creativity: perceiving, patterning, abstracting, embodied thinking, dimensional thinking, playing, and synthesizing.
Work Sample: Blog
This blog contains all the work I completed for this class. Each assignment includes a project and an explanation, and there is one assignment for each of the creativity tools. For the first assignment, we were asked to take photos of something relatively ordinary, but in different ways to challenge the way we perceive things.
