Concepts of Educational Inquiry
ED800
Instructor: Dr. Steven Weiland
Semester: Summer 2012
This course introduced me to many of the people instrumental in education, from Dewey to Vivian Paley and Gardner. I especially enjoyed one of our required texts, A Passion for Learning, by Philip A Cusick, in which I learned about the education of Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, Jane Addams, WEB DuBois, Eleanor Roosevelt, J. Robert Oppenheimer, and Dorothy Day. This was so very fascinating because the people featured in the book had everything from no formal education to multiple college degrees, and everything in between. I loved learning how they learned, and how they used that learning to get where they got.
Work Sample: Education Reflection
This reflection on the final unit of the course explored my growth in technology and using it in my teaching, as well as different forms of educational inquiry.
