Charity Activity
The Castle Medical Group PPG is registered as a charity and is called
Friends of Castle Medical Group (Charity Number 1162590)
The aim of this charity is to raise funding to purchase equipment and services which are not available on the NHS to benefit Castle Medical Group patients. This charity is registered with the charities commission and any money received is controlled by an independent body of trustees.
Because of the amazing donations from our patients and local businesses, we have been able to buy these items for the practice.
A Centrifuge machine which means that we are one of only a few practices that can do blood tests in the afternoon after our standard blood collection late morning from the hospital. This has really helped for patients who can’t attend in the morning for a blood test and improved our overall availability.
An automated blood pressure machine that is available in reception for patients to be able to check their blood pressure at any time, this has also dramatically reduced the number of appointments required with a Health Care Assistant
Two special clinical refrigerators for storing vaccines etc
A new set of portable home blood pressure machines, to support patients in the identification of high blood pressure, a serious problem to health.
A new patients' announcement system with display monitors in the waiting room areas.
Three Laptops for CMG staff to work from home during the Covid 19 lockdown.
Our next priority is to help the patients who suffer from Dementia, we are supporting the health centre with this project.
The practice also needs a number of other items, so help is needed!!
The PPG would welcome help from any charity organisation or an individual with this project. If you would like to help, please send/drop a donation ( payable to our charity "Friends of Castle Medical Group" or use the just giving link shown below on the poster) to the Castle Medical Group Surgery on Burton Road, addressed to Tony Green, The Chairman, Friends of Castle Medical Group.
This is the charity responsible for fund raising to help support patients at the practice.
