Margaret Susan Hall was born 10 January 1881 in Irving, Barry County, Michigan. She was the third child of Thaddeus Lebecous Hall and Annie Melissa Kollar. She moved with her family to Minnesota. After her marriage to Daniel Charles Dennis, she moved to Montana and northern Wyoming. About 1932 she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, and lived there until her death at the age of 99 on 4 June 1980.

The family moved initially to Rockbridge County, Virginia, and then to the state of Ohio, where they eventually settled in Tuscarawas County.
