Ernie Andrews and Barbara Morrison pass in 2022

It is with deep sadness that we note the passing of our dear friend ERNIE ANDREWS on February 21, 2022. Andrews was a member of the Harry James orchestra, debuting on November 26, 1958, at the Blue Note jazz club in Chicago. In 1974, he returned to Los Angeles, where he resided with his wife of 50 years, Dolores, who preceded him in death. Ernie continued, sharing the lives of his five children and grandchildren. Art called his colleague with a question on February 22 and reached his daughter Stephanie, who informed him that Ernie Andrews an American jazz, blues, and pop musician had passed away on Monday night, the 21st of February, 2022 at 11:26 p.m., at the age of 94. He was born on December 25, 1927 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA as Ernest Mitchell Andrews Jr. We honor his life's work and the brief time he spent with the Swing Machine in rehearsal at Portland State University and a PDXJazz performance at Revolution Hall, from which much of the content below comes. BARBARA MORRISON appeared with ERNIE ANDREWS and the SWING MACHINE on February 15, 2018 at Revolution Hall in Portland, Oregon.
