I added the conference to my Google Calendar, but I did not have the link to the conference room. So at about 9:50am when I received my notification I looked through the announcement board and discussion board for the link. Others were having the same problem. Finally someone posted the link on the discussion board and I was able to join the web conference. This was not my first web conference since starting the program. So I made sure the program had access to my web camera. I had presenter rights but I was not showing on the screen. Then I finally realized I had not pushed the camera button in the lower left hand corner of the video pod. Then I was visible in the video pod.
There were only about nine attendees to the web conference. Dr. Abernathy provided us with a few tips for successfully completing the program. One of the points stressed by Dr. Abernathy was that our writing should utilize correct APA style citations. One of the attendees recommended the Basics of APA Style for anyone needing assistance with APA. This was a shot web conference but I plan to watch it over to make sure I did not miss any important information.
