Inclusive Growth
This paper presents the concept of inclusive growth, how it was built, what it means for different authors and suggests a definition.
Considering the definition of inclusive growth provided by Ranieri and Ramos (2013), this paper provides a operational definition and measures the state of inclusiveness in different countries, how inclusive the growth process has been in different places and compares the levels of inclusiveness achieved and the GDP growth seen in the period.
This short paper discusses a problem raised in the quest of measuring inclusive growth. Employment is an important part of the inclusiveness of a growth, but very high employment rates in poor countries many times arise from a negative situation of elderly work. The paper suggests a way of considering employment as positive for measuring inclusiveness while considering the mentioned negative aspects.
