Raquel Ramos

Hi!

I have done my PhD in Paris 13 and Unicamp under the supervision of Daniela M. Prates, Dominique Plihon, and Dany Lang. My thesis is on the implications of financialization on emerging countries' exchange rates and was awarded the Exim Bank BRICS Annual Economic Research Award. The thesis can be downloaded below.

Prior to that I have worked as a macroeconomist at UNDP's International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth, where I have researched on inclusive growth and macroeconomic policies in developing countries. I have also interned at UNCTAD and worked with finance and with the gold and dolar markets in the private sector in Brazil.

I hold a Masters degree in International and Development Economics from the Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin (HTW Berlin, Germany) and a Bachelors degree in Economics from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG, Brazil).

My Master's thesis was on capital account policies in Brazil under the supervision of Sebastian Dullien. My undergraduate thesis was on the investment decision making process in the case of the inflation targeting regime in Brazil under the supervision of Frederico G. Jayme Junior.

This site is mostly dedicated to present my academic research, but it now also brings some links and ideas about two tools that I have been using for teaching economics: spreadsheets and quizzes.
