Requirements
The following is required in order to play in the ARAIG Football League:
You must own the current version of Action! PC Football software (currently 2025 Version).
You must own the season disk or the team you have selected.
You must have a working email address and an internet connection.
LogMein Hamachi VPN software (free version available) is highly recommended for internet play as it allows coaches to communicate with each other outside of the game. DKSports maintains a Hamachi network lobby to allow for internet play.
Game Play
All games must be play head to head. If your opponent is not able to play during a given week, you must find a sub coach to play the game. Coaches may only play games against the computer when their scheduled opponent is a computer controlled team and they cannot find a sub.
Normally the Home team (lower seed) will host the game, but coaches can decide who will host if they are having connection issues.
Games are due at midnight est on the date indicated in the email when the weekly disk is sent out. Extensions to the due date may be granted upon request.
The Game Play Clock is required for h2h play and will be turned ON in the league rules. The Play Clock should be set at 45 seconds. Coaches should know how to pause the play clock in case of interruptions, etc.
NOTE: Starting in 1999, coaches were allowed two (2) replay challenges, so that feature is turned ON for this league. Booth reviews of scoring plays and turnovers started in 2011. Since we are using 2024 as a base season, all features will be turned ON.
After completing a game, it is the responsibility of the host coach to send the .XBX file to the league commissioner. The host coach should also send the game file to his opponent as a backup in case there are issues with the original file.
Since there are no bye weeks built into the schedule, all players on all teams will be given 1 week rest between weeks 7 and 8 to simulate the bye week.
Player Usage
Season Usage is turned OFF for this tournament. Season usage will be set to Mild 120% - Moderate 125% - Major - 130%
Game Usage is set to Mild - 15% Moderate - 15% Major 15% (no exemptions)
Special Team Usage is set to OFF.
Home Field Advantage is set to OFF.
Coaches should gauge player usage during the season to avoid having a 'fatigued' team the last few games.
Playoffs
Four (4) teams will make the playoffs; the 2 division winners and the next 2 teams with the best records, regardless of the division. Seeds will be determined based on record and h2h play. The #1 seed will host the #4 seed and the #2 seed will host the #3 seed.
The winners of the two playoff games will meet in the ARAIG Championship game. The team with the best record will host the game.
Player usage in the playoffs will be Mild - 15% Moderate - 15% Major - 15%
Any player with 5 or less attempts in real life may only have 1 attempt in the entire playoffs.
