When will registration open for the 2026 tournament?

In 2024, registration began on September 27.

In 2023, registration began on September 28.

In 2022, registration began on September 30.

Registration is open now. My guess is committee codes will be available at the end of September. If you register without a committee code, you will have to register AGAIN when the committee codes become available.

Signature Event changes for 2025

72 is the minimum and likely size of the field.

Tiger Woods has been granted a lifetime exemption for Signature Events.

Eligibility for the Signature Events (field sizes with a minimum of 72 players) includes the top 50 players from the 2024 FedExCup standings. Additional eligibility pathways are available throughout the season, connecting the entire PGA TOUR schedule from start to finish. These pathways include:

• Fifteen members who can play their way in through the Aon Next 10 and Aon Swing 5;

• Current season tournament winners (excluding Additional Events);

• PGA TOUR members inside the top 30 in the Official World Golf Ranking;

• Four sponsor exemptions earmarked for PGA TOUR members;

• The three player-hosted events each have one tournament host exemption, not restricted to PGA TOUR members.

The Aon Next 10 represents the top 10 players, not already exempt, from the FedExCup standings, while the Aon Swing 5 includes the top five FedExCup points earners, not already exempt, from a collection of Full-Field Events leading up to each Signature Event. In 2024, 48 different PGA TOUR players who did not finish in the top 50 of the previous year’s FedExCup Playoffs and Eligibility Points List made at least one Signature Event start via the Aon Next 10 or Aon Swing 5.

Changes to the Waitlist Process and Qualifications

The waitlist for Walking Scorers has grown to over one hundred interested people! Because our committee is so popular and to ensure that interested volunteers not needed for Walking Scorers can be utilized in other roles, the tournament office is asking for us to formalize our waitlist process.

Anyone interested in becoming a walking scorer must have:

• A minimum of one year service working in another API committee, and

• A minimum of one year of service on a Shotlink committee at any PGA Tour Shotlink event. 

• Volunteers that have served a "part-time" role by attending the Saturday training and working an API Pro-Am will be given priority consideration for an open committee positions. 

Interested applicants for API Walking Scorers that do not have the one year of scoring experience will be directed to register with one of the Shotlink committees.

Applicants with scoring experience from another PGA Tour event will be encouraged to register with any API committee. 

Volunteers that are not available for the on-site training on the Saturday prior to tournament week or not available to work the Wednesday Pro-Am will not be considered a potential Walking Scorer.

Interested Volunteers that are Registered with Another API Committee:

If the volunteer is already registered with another committee and has met the scoring-related experience requirement, they can email us at walkingscorersapi@gmail.com AND include their current committee chair on same email. Qualified volunteers will be added to our waitlist.

If the volunteer is already registered with another committee and has not met the scoring-related experience requirement, they need to contact one of those prerequisite committee chairs. An email to  walkingscorersapi@gmail.com can be forwarded to either Standard Bearers or Shotlink committee chairs. The interested volunteer will be added to our waitlist with a note that they have not met the scoring-related experience requirement.

Interested Volunteers that are NOT Registered with an API Committee:

Those that have not already registered at need to complete the registration process at https://events.r2it.com/volunteer/palmer/2023/ and select Walking Scorers as their waitlist preference. There is no cost to register to the waitlist. This gets the volunteer "into the system" and allows the tournament office to communicate with interested volunteers. In their registration they can note what PGA Tour scoring-related experience they have. If they don't have the necessary experience, they should be selected the waitlist for one of the other API scoring-related committees (Standard Bearers, Shotlink Location-Based Operators, Shotlink Spotters, TV Spotters, or Scoring Central).  Once they have completed a tournament registration they can then e-mail us at walkingscorersapi@gmail.com  to make us aware, but they will not be formally added to our internal waitlist without the prerequisite service requirements.

Evaluation of Walking Scorer Waitlist Candidates

Once a volunteer has met the two service requirements they will be evaluated among the pool of other qualifying volunteers. Factors that influence which volunteers are higher on the waitlist include (in priority order):

• years of API volunteer service

• experience as a Walking Scorer with other PGA Tour events

• availability to work the API Monday Pro-Am

• experience as a Walking Scorer with LPGA or Seniors Tour events

• other scoring experience from API or other tournaments

Tournament Dress Code

All volunteers are required to wear the official volunteer uniform (volunteer shirt with khaki pants). Men are required to wear long pants. Ladies may wear pants, capris or knee length shorts/skirts during scheduled working hours.  ** No cargo style pants and no open toe shoes. Men please tuck in your shirts.

The API Logo must always be visible on your outermost layer. If you need to add layers for warmth please add them underneath the official uniform shirt or jacket.

We will not forget her 29 years of service (12 as chairperson) to the tournaments at Bay Hill. She also had many years of service associated with the local LPGA events, the Father-Son event (now PNC), and the PGA Tour events at Disney.
