MY LINEAGE
MY DAUGHTERS & THEIR FAMILIES
Father died on August 15, 1969 at Silchar in Assam where he had been staying with my elder brother, and mother passed away on September 16, 1990 in Kolkata where she had been living with me.
They both hailed from Sylhet in erstwhile East Pakistan, now Bangladesh. They migrated to India immediately after partition; I was 5/6 years old, elder brother a few years older. First settled in Silchar, then moved to Jorhat where my father after leaving the job of a Press Manager, started a small printing press himself with a loan of Rs. 5000 from Refugee Relief & Rehabilitation Department of Govt of Assam. We solely depended on income from this small enterprise for our livelihood, education and all basic needs. We had to abandon this place Jorhat during the "Bangal Kheda" movement of 1960 with little money, keeping the press under lock & key. We went back to Silchar from where we had come and where we had some relations staying. My father procured a job of a Press Manager with small salary and started living in a rented house there. My parents and brother returned to Jorhat after situation became normal. By that time I had moved to Shillong for my college education

RELATIONS FROM WIFE'S SIDE
She lives in Delhi with her husband Chayan, son Rahul and daughter Puja. She is another of my most favourite amongst wife's relations. She is trying her best amongst all odds to upgrade her qualification. She is keen and intent on her goal. She is soft-hearted and finds interest in the finer things of life. In many respects, her feelings and attitude to life resonate with mine. Amongst my near and dear ones and the in-laws, she is the only woman who can appreciate my work. That makes her my favourite. She is now MA.

MOMENTS OF CELEBRATION IN THE FAMILY
My niece Manju from the eldest sister
A word of regret: I have many relations from both sides spread over India as also outside. For shortage of space and data I could not cover all of them here. I have tried to include some of them for whom I had required data in my slideshow video and electronic album which could be seen in family video and album page of this website. I feel bad that I could not include many of the relations. My sincerest regret
