Before you get to Antibes, make sure you have:
Sent your signed entry form & waiver and your medical certificate to Maxi Plouf (antibesmaxiplouf@bigpond.com or jean-luc.boulanger@bigpond.com)
Made the payments for your entry fee, support paddlers and accommodation at CREPS as relevant
Sent your arrival & departure details specifying whether you'd like to be picked-up at Nice airport and/or from the hotel to get back to the airport (payment for transfers to be made directly to your driver: 55 EUR each way - 2020 prices)
Received your driver's details if you requested transfer from or to the airport
Prepared your own risk management plan for the swim
Optional - Downloaded the Find My Friends app on your iPhone so that we can track you during the swim, and found a small waterproof container (e.g. Tupperware with snap lock lid) to fit your iPhone and be put on your support kayak during the swim
The day before the swim - 6 June 2020:
Optional - Swim session from 10am at Plage des Ondes, the 10km & 20km mark on the Swim course
Compulsory - Briefing from 11am at Plage des Ondes, the 10km & 20km mark on the Swim course
Optional - Activate your Find My Friends app so that the Race Director's number +61 419 551 694 can track you during the swim
Familiarise yourself with the swim course
The day of the swim - 7 June 2020:
Take with you to the swim start:
Bathers, goggles, and swim cap of the colour you have been allocated (see Participants): you can use the silicone swim cap we will give you when you get to Antibes, or your own cap as long as it is of the same colour
Optional - Wetsuit if you choose to wear one: you are free to do what you feel is best for you given that the expected water temperature is about 19C or 66F
Sunscreen, anti chafe
Hydration & nutrition products you will use until swim start at 7am (7:15am for the relay team)
Hydration & nutrition products you will give the paddler at the swim start - Put your swim number on the bottles if possible (NB We will also have a texter at the swim start)
Towel for you to use before the start and/or at the finish
Optional - Spare goggles and anti chafe you can give the paddler at the swim start
Optional - Your iPhone in a small waterproof container (e.g. Tupperware with snap lock lid) to be put on your kayak for us to track you during the swim
Optional - Hydration & nutrition products to be taken to Les Ondes and for you to use at the 10km and 20km mark: there will be a feed station in the water at Les Ondes - Put your swim number on the bottles if possible (NB We will also have a texter at the swim start)
A bag to pack your belongings (thongs, shorts, T-shirt, towel for you to use at the finish, ...) - We will keep the bag for you during the swim and you will get it back at the finish
Make sure you arrive at La Gravette (swim start) at 6am or earlier Â
During the swim:
Stay on the course at all times, close to your kayak
It is compulsory that you give way to all vessels coming in or out of dedicated channels
Enjoy the day: you have done the training, it is a spectacular course, make the most of it!
