Swim course
To complete the course, participants will need to swim about 30km in the sea, remaining within a few hundred meters of the shore at all times:
The course we aim for is a roundtrip from the Gravette Beach in the old town of Antibes to the green lighthouse at the entrance of the port of Golfe-Juan (Camille Rayon port):
The course goes around scenic Cap d’Antibes in both directions
Participants will swim along the impressive fortified wall of Antibes old town, past the sandy beaches of Ponteil, Salis, Garoupe, Les Ondes, Crouton, Juan-les-Pins and Golfe-Juan
The swim also goes inside the world-famous Billionaires’ bay and past the iconic Hotel du Cap
Swimmers must remain within a few hundred metres of the shore at all times
When lines of yellow spherical buoys are located about 300m from the shore and roughly parallel to the shore, swimmers must follow them
At several locations on the course, the lines of spherical buoys are interrupted by a conical and a spherical buoys (these indicate the end section of a channel dedicated to water ski activities, jet skis, or boats coming in or out of a port): swimmers and their support paddlers must give way to all boats or crafts coming in or out of these dedicated channels (more details will be provided at the compulsory briefing to be held the day before the swim)
The course is spectator friendly: friends & family will be able to follow the swimmers on land at several locations (more detailed information to be provided at the briefing)
The organisation reserves the right to change the course or cancel the swim for safety reasons depending on the conditions
