4th Sunday after Pentecost – 21 June 2026
Rev Rob
'I hereby command you: Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.' – Joshua 1:9
Gracious God, we who were baptised into Christ Jesus were baptised into his suffering and death: we pray that, as you raised him from death, so by the power of the Holy Spirit we may live the new life to your glory, knowing ourselves to be dead in sin but alive for you in Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

New Parish Council Member – I have appointed Portia Hannemann to Parish Council. The appointment requires ratification by the diocese (and of course paperwork) but until then she is able to attend but not participate in PC Meetings.
Our New Parish Administrator – Natalie has commenced as our new Parish Administrator. Natalie is employed by St Mark's at The Gap. Moggill/Mt Crosby pay The Gap for her time supporting us. We won't see Natalie here most of the time; the work that she will do for us is all electronic and she will be available to us by email, SMS and phone. She is already fully trained and has proven effective in using the procedures required by our diocese.
Natalie has now taken over production of GNT. Her first priority has been working with Richard on finance and accounting. Next we will move to all of the registers that we need to have under legislation for Licensing and Safety. She will lead us in the redevelopment of our Parish Website.
Natalie works for us some time on each of her workdays Tuesday to Friday. The best way to contact her is through our normal Parish email address and church phone number.
Natalie will be visiting us on Tuesday 23 June at 10:00am if any wish to come to meet her.
Low Gluten or Gluten Free Wafers – We have 'low gluten' wafers available every Sunday and are happy to consecrate and give them to you but we need to know who would like them. We also have 'gluten free' wafers. Asking before the Service is helpful but you can also ask during the distribution of the bread and wine.
Careforce, Inala Pantry – The volunteers from St Hugh's Anglican Church at Inala greatly appreciate our support for their work. Food items for Inala Pantry can be left in the marked area in the church for delivery to Inala.
Bellbowrie Community Church Kids Holiday Program – Bellbowrie Community Church are holding a children's program from Monday 29 June to Wednesday 1 July at their church. Details are in the attached flyer.
Upcoming – Christ Church St Lucia are having a Garage Sale on Saturday 18 July and Peter Baker's Musical Chairs Jazz Band are having a concert on Saturday 25 July. Details are in the attached flyers.

1 After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, the LORD spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses' assistant, saying, 2 'My servant Moses is dead. Now proceed to cross the Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the Israelites. 3 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, as I promised to Moses. 4 From the wilderness and the Lebanon as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, to the Great Sea in the west shall be your territory. 5 No one shall be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you. 6 Be strong and courageous; for you shall put this people in possession of the land that I swore to their ancestors to give them. 7 Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to act in accordance with all the law that my servant Moses commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, so that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to act in accordance with all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall be successful. 9 I hereby command you: Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.'
1 What then are we to say? Should we continue in sin in order that grace may abound? 2 By no means! How can we who died to sin go on living in it? 3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we have been buried with him by baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. 6 We know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be destroyed, and we might no longer be enslaved to sin. 7 For whoever has died is freed from sin. 8 But if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin, once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. 11 So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.
24 ‘A disciple is not above the teacher, nor a slave above the master; 25 it is enough for the disciple to be like the teacher, and the slave like the master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign those of his household! 26 So have no fear of them; for nothing is covered up that will not be uncovered, and nothing secret that will not become known. 27 What I say to you in the dark, tell in the light; and what you hear whispered, proclaim from the housetops. 28 Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground unperceived by your Father. 30 And even the hairs of your head are all counted. 31 So do not be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows.’
32 'Everyone therefore who acknowledges me before others, I also will acknowledge before my Father in heaven; 33 but whoever denies me before others, I also will deny before my Father in heaven. 34 Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; 36 and one's foes will be members of one's own household. 37 Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; 38 and whoever does not take up the cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Those who find their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it.'
