2024 Appeals: Lend a Hand, Save Lives- show the love of Jesus to those in Need
STEWARDSHIP - You Can Help
Stewardship in Action
Thank You All For Your Stewardship and for the many hours you volunteer to help with the worship experience at St Michael and All Angels in so many ways. Please let Rob or Angela know if you can help in any area of our church's activities from Welcoming to Children's Ministry, Prayer Support, Worship Assistance (readings, prayers, liturgical assistance, Pastoral Care) or help with building and grounds, fund raising, Moggill markets and Morning Tea so that our outreach to the community shows others the love of Christ.
Keeping Our Church Going Financially
We Need Your Help With Our Finances
Ask our Treasurer Richard Ponsonby 0488 899801 for the latest correspondence regarding Stewardship if you haven't received it online or in the mail
We urge all parishioners who were using the Open Plate to transition to Direct Debit so that your church here in Moggill Mt Crosby can continue to function sustainably.
Contact our Treasurer Richard on 0448 899 801 to transition to direct debit or if you choose not to use direct debit you may wish to make a one off donation in the open plate near the door entrance. These gifts will be blessed during the offertory part of the service.
GIVING - What Scripture says about Giving:
2 Corinthians 8:7 (NIV)
But just as you excel in everything - in faith in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us - see that you also excel in this grace of giving." (NIV)
2 Corinthians 9:7
7Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. NRSV
Christmas Giving
We have received numerous ‘Christmas Giving’ opportunities and I have discussed these with Parish Council. Our view is that the most useful and direct thing we can do is to continue to support the organisations that we have supported through our ongoing fundraising and particularly CAREFORCE Pantry operated through Inala Parish. From Advent Sunday we will have a separate offertory plate for this purpose. Cash donations will be passed on before Christmas .
Message from the Director of Mission, Research and Advocacy -
“And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn”.
Luke 2:7 NRSV
At Christmas we celebrate Jesus, hope of the world, born in a lowly manger. Christmas is a time for giving, a time for reflection and a time for hope.
By donating a gift this year, you can help make Christmas bright for one of Anglicare’s clients. You can let them know they’re not alone.
To ensure all clients get what they need this Christmas simply visit https://anglicaresq.org.au/in-kind-donation/ and select what you would like to donate and where you will drop it off. Then Anglicare will help get it to clients in need.
Parishes who collect gifts from their community are asked to use the website and depots to select and deliver goods. The depots will have specific days and hours for receiving your donations. Please check the information on the flyer attached.
Any questions should be directed to Anglicare Southern Queensland at giving@anglicaresq.org.au.
Thank you for your gift this Christmas.

Inala Careforce Grocery Donations for the purchase of Emergency Groceries and Personal Items for those families in dire need
( Inala Care Force need our donations now more than ever with the rising cost of shortage of groceries and increased cost of living expenses making it hard for many families to put food on the table. Peter Baker and Miranda Mortlock regularly drop off our donations of food to St Hughs Anglican as part of our support during the year. Please leave your contributions near reception
There are some items needed more than others and some which are not preferred. Below is
a list of items that might help with our selection of foods for the pantry.
For children’s lunches – high fibre muesli bars
Long life full cream cow’s milk, not other types of milk. Full cream milk is in very
high demand.
Instant coffee and tea bags.
Tinned vegetables eg. Peas, carrots, corn, potato, not lentils.
Spreads including jams, Vegemite.
They have a surplus of soup at the moment – no soup.
Tinned meat eg. Corned beef, camp pie.
Tinned fruit
Toothpaste and tooth brushes – these are much needed.

Help and Prayers needed here too for those in need
Following the Devastating Cyclones, Floods on the East Coast of Australia our community are still doing it tough, and need your help. (Many folks who lost everything in the bushfires of 2019 and floods in February 2022 are still homeless and living in tents in winter. Some folks' tragedies were compounded with devastating flooding and torrential rain especially in Northern Queensland
The Archbishop’s Emergency Relief Appeal exists to make funds available to local parishes affected by drought, flood, fire or other emergencies in order to assist families in need with the purchase of groceries and other basic necessities, often from shops or service providers in their local communities. All money raised is spent on helping these families in need. Gifts are also made to other dioceses when emergencies strike them.
You can make a difference by providing a gift to the Archbishop’s Emergency Relief Appeal. Your gift will allow us to provide practical assistance and pastoral care to those who are struggling as result of drought, floods or other emergencies and to show people that they are not alone.
