 “Internet Applications for Development”

 

Internet for Development is aimed at researchers and practitioners in Social Communication, as well as project managers, development officers, and consultants.  The course content is focused on the social potentialities of the information and communication technologies, ICTs, particularly internet.   As an outcome, participants will be able to the use of internet for development purposes.

·        Information Era and Knowledge Societies.

·        The Digital Divide.

·        The ICTs.

·        The ICTs informative potentialities (online publications, specialized e-mailing lists, databases, meta-information, etc.)

·        The ICTs cognitive potentialities (network building, virtual forums, e-groups, etc.)

·        Social applications of ICTs: e-health, e-learning, gender, and good governance.

 

Methodology

The course is tailored as a seminar-workshop, teaching the basic foundation of the Information Age, with hands on Internet demonstrations.

  

Institutional Strengthening in Communications for no-for-profit organizations

 

This course aimed to NGO's, associations and other no-for-profit organizations which need to strengthen their relations with media, communication campaigns and their corporate image.
