Growth & Remodeling under Device Load: I am interested to provide insight into the long-term effect of complex contact interactions between vascular devices and aortic wall. For example, aortic endografts maintain their positional stability using fixation forces from device oversizing and other mechanism such as hooks and barbs. It is important to investigate the impact of device fixation forces on wall stresses and long-term aortic growth and remodeling.
Related Work: We calculated endograft oversizing at baseline (post-operative) and tracked changes in follow up configurations by measuring supra-celiac (SC) and
infra-renal (IR) aortic diameters in 137 EVAR patients with a minimum of 4 years follow-up CTA data. The radial force exerted by the endograft against aortic wall at each time point was calculated and the long-term impact of endograft oversizing on aortic neck dilation was estimated.
