Van Gogh (****) - Paulus Potterstraat 7, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (22:00 on Fridays), € 10. Surprisingly spacious, this museum is dedicated to Van Gogh and his contemporaries.

Rembrandt's House (***) - Jodenbreestraat 4 (Waterlooplein), 10:00 (Sunday 11:00) -17:00, € 7.50. Restored seventeenth century house where Rembrandt lived and worked. Of interest is also the opportunity to purchase replicas at very reasonable prices (around € 35). of the original paintings of Rembrandt.

Rijksmuseum (***) - Jan Luijkenstraat 1, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; € 9 (children have free admission). It is a large museum containing paintings by some of the great painters of the seventeenth century such as Rembrandt, Vermeer and Van Hals, but the crown jewel is undoubtedly the "Nightwatch" by Rembrandt. Although it is being renovated, some parts are still closed, the museum still contains many artefacts and paintings. There are still a small section of the Rijksmuseum at Amsterdam airport, Schiphol.

Maritime Museum (****) - Kattenburgerplein 1 (Bus 22, 42 from Central Station or 15 minutes walk); 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Closed on Mondays except Novera, € 7.50. This museum can be especially fun for children because there is a replica of the original size of an old ship (sometimes with actors on board representing the sea life).

Anne Frank House (**) - Prinsengracht 263 (Westerkerk), 9:00 to 19:00 (summer until 21.00), € 7.50. The former hiding place of a young Jewish war, and of his family near the end of the war was discovered by the Nazis. This cache is famous because of the huge success of The Diary of Anne Frank. It is one of the most touristic town that is why we advise you to go in the morning or at dusk to avoid the queues.
