MANILA, PHILIPPINES, October 9, 2018 – In just a week after Variety magazine announced it as part of its TV Fall line-up, ABS-CBN International’sThe People’s Queen – the glamorous reality TV boot camp for beauty pageant hopefuls – has produced its first real beauty queen. Last weekend, cast member Katarina Rodriguez was crowned Miss World Philippines 2018 at the pageant’s coronation night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in the Philippines.

Rodriguez will represent the Philippines at the Miss World 2018 pageant in China this December. Aside from winning Miss World-Philippines, Rodriguez was also named Beach Beauty Challenge winner, Best in Long Gown, Miss Resorts World Manila, and Miss Blue Water Day Spa (along with Maureen Montagne). Miss Eco International 2018 Thia Thomalla is now a Kapuso

Miss Eco International 2018 Thia Thomalla now ventures on a new journey as she signed a management contract with GMA Artist Center on Tuesday, September 4.

Present during the contract signing were GMA Entertainment Group Senior Vice President Lilybeth G. Rasonable, GMA Senior Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara, and talent manager Arnold Vegafria.

Before joining Artist Center, Thia was crowned Miss Eco Philippines at the Miss World Philippines 2017, and earlier this year, she represented the country in Egypt for Miss Eco International and took home the crown.

Miss Ecuador Olga Alava, a model, was crowned Miss Earth 2011 at the UP Theater in Diliman, Quezon City last Saturday night. MissPhilippines Athena Imperial placed 3rd (Miss Earth Water).

Miss Venezuela won the Miss Universe pageant. Stefania Fernandez, 18 was crowned Miss Universe 2009 by outgoing titleholder Dayana Mendoza, also from Venezuela.

The first runner-up title went to Miss Dominican Republic Ada Aimee dela Cruz. The second runner-up, Miss Kosovo Gona Dragusha. Third, Miss Australia Rachael Finch. Fourth, Miss Puerto Rico Mayra Matos Perez.

Venezuela has won more National crowns than any other country with five Miss Universe titles, five Miss World’s and four Miss International crowns.

Stefania Fernandez is of Russian, Ukrainian, Galician and Polish origin and .enjoys tennis and swimming in her spare time.

Miss Congeniality was won by Miss China, Wang Jingyao while Miss Thailand, Chutima Durongdej took the Miss Photogenic title.
